Are you an artist? A musician or dancer? Do you love cats?

House of Dreams is interested in partnering with musicians, artists, dancers, and all manner of creative people to work with us on creating benefits to support our efforts to rescue homeless cats.

We have also worked with restaurants, bakers, and cooks to put on bake sales, benefit dinners, etc.

House of Dreams loves to partner with members of our community, and would love to talk to anyone interested in helping us help animals in need.

We are feeling a little tired, after our fabulous evening at the Global Cabaret last night.

It was a wonderful show, and we'd like to thank all the performers (Negara, Origin, Znama Dance Compnay, Znama Student Company, Samantha Riggs, and Julia D. Sanasarian) who volunteered their time to make it such a success. And we'd like to thank all of you who came out to enjoy the show and support the shelter.

It was a great night...and we find ourselves thinking about Global Cabaret Two...maybe fall 2010???

On Sunday, November 22nd, House of Dreams will be hosting a night of exotic music and dance at Someday Lounge. Proceeds from the show benefit the kitties at the shelter.

Joining us will be Bollywood and Bhangra dancer Samantha Riggs.

Dancer Julia D. Sanasarian performs for House of Dreams

On Sunday, November 22nd, House of Dreams will be hosting a night of exotic music and dance at Someday Lounge. Proceeds from the show benefit the kitties at the shelter.

This week we look at dancer Julia D. Sanasarian. Check out Julia  below (performing with the March Fourth Marching Band bellydancers at a show at the Knitting Factory in LA), and come see her in person on the 22nd.

Global Cabaret--an evening of exotic music and dance to benefit House of Dreams

On November 22, House of Dreams will be hosting an evening of music and dance at the Someday Lounge in Portland. The show will feature music and dance from around the world, with the proceeds benefiting the cats at the shelter.

This week's sneak peek at the evening's performers features Negara.

Negara plays an assortment of traditional and original songs, with influences ranging from Spanish/Afro-Cuban, North African and middle-eastern, to rock, jazz and blues. They are frequently seen performing with some of the Northwest's most talented belly dancers.

Origin Bellydance dances for cats

On November 22, House of Dreams will be hosting an evening of music and dance at the Someday Lounge in Portland. The show will feature music and dance from around the world, and the proceeds benefit the cats at the shelter

This week's sneak peek at the evening's performers features Origin Belly Dance.

"We are dancers trained in the art of belly dance, with firm Origins in Tribal Belly Dance. We layer our dance with other dance movement borrowing from ballet, jazz, modern and folkloric styles."

Dancing for Cats! (sneak preview)

On November 22, House of Dreams will be hosting an evening of music and dance at the Someday Lounge in Portland. The show will feature music and dance from around the world, and the proceeds benefit the cats at the shelter.

In the weeks leading up to the show, we will be offering sneak peeks at the featured performers.

This week, we take a look at Znama, lead by the fabulous Severina.

Severina has been awesome in helping put this event together, and we are pleased to note that House of Dreams' volunteer Lili will be one of the featured dancers. Many thanks to both beautiful ladies!
